10 months in the Kitchen

....  This is my Kitchen....
...well it was a year ago............. I loved the look of the vegies on the end of the bench and the the flowers and little hens under the window....

... the slow cooker lived on the bench on  the Dining Room side of the stove.....with the fruit...

I decided to change things a little......

... I cleared the bench a bit and changed the curtains to see through net  ..... mmm....much lighter and fresher.....

... note the white cupboard with the microwave on top..... this is a big problem area....

This was 3 months ago .......

 ..More changes to come.....

....Kyton just hanging out around the place.......

..and a few garden pics to leave you smiling.....

..be back soon....

... New Flooring is Down and Beautiful xxx

...on Tuesday 15th July our new flooring was installed ... and we Love It ....

The installation guys arrived at 7am which was wonderful... we had been told they would arrive at 9am... they were early and eager to get started. We couldn't have asked for a better start to the day..

We had put all the small furniture pieces in the lounge room the day before so only the fridge and freezer had to be moved and they just went from one side of the room to the other as the fellows worked.... it was great.

Hubby made a secluded corner for Mum and I behind the furniture and we spent the day there with the heater going... all snug and comfortable ....and... out of the way... we played yahtzee and relaxed. I was able to walk carefully through the chaos and make a cup of tea and coffee and Hubby bought us hot Fish and Chips for lunch....  we were looked after very well.

I only took a couple of photos of the ongoing work as I didn't want to be in the way......

I think these locking vinyl planks are a great idea. They went together so easily.... it wasn't a quick job because of the time and care needed to make sure they were locked in properly and the joins were sealed. A lot of banging with rubber mallets..  lol...

We had our Kitchen, Dining room, Laundry, Toilet and the big Family room all done in the same flooring...
The installers didn't want to come back the next day to finish  the job, so the Boss asked Hubby if we minded if they stayed later to finish in the one day...
...of course he said.. 'No Problem' ... so they stayed and didn't leave until 6.30 pm.. that was 11and a half hours that they were at our place.... we were so impressed and happy with the workmen..... xxxx
I gave them an 11 out of 10 for their work.....

Here are the finished floors .... one continuous look ... I love it..

...looking through the dining room to the back door.....
... from the Family room looking into the dining room to our little hidey hole behind the furniture you can see in the lounge room ..
.... dining room into the Kitchen ..... it's so great to have all the floors new and matching..... xxxx

So pleased this part is finished... now it's on to a 'very cheap' kitchen make over that I'll share soon.....

Every Thursday my Mum has a lady come and stay with her for 3 hours so Hubby and I can do something together.. like go out for lunch, or go to a movie.... it's great.. Today we are going shopping for some finishing touches for the  kitchen and some non-slip mats for in front of our chairs in the family room. The ones we had slip on the new floor... lol....
I love this kind of shopping... xxxx

Talk to you soon.....
Have a great day everyone...

... packing up and storing cupboard contents.... waiting for floors ... still...

....Still waiting to hear when the delivery and installation of our floor will be....
In the mean time we look like we're moving out........

.... boxes of craft in the bedroom ..... empty cupboards in the dining room, and the back room ...linen press  in the process of being bagged....  and the 2 seater lounge will be picked up by the council tomorrow... and we get our front verandah back.....  :)  :)

Our #2 daughter turned 50  last week and we had a  BBQ at her place yesterday.... it was a great afternoon..

.. these are my three Great Grandchildren ...they are 5, 3, and 2 and are so cute ... xxx they had fun yesterday...

... the subject from my photography group for yesterday was 'on the table' so I took these pics of different 'tables' at the BBQ... as you can see there was lots of food, cake, flowers and fun..... Mum choose a quiet corner for her lunch....  my #3 daughter sat with her while Hubby got Mum's lunch and I got her coffee.... she hardly got a moments peace because everybody kept coming over to talk to her.... she enjoyed the afternoon ....  and all the attention..

... here's a pretty pink Impatiens flower .... and a bug on a dead flower ...

... this is Jules, my cockateil..... he likes putting his head in this corner above the aviary door and talking and whistling to himself........ makes me smile.... it must echo and sound good to him....

.. earlier in the week I cut this onion in half, leaving the skin on...I wrapped it in cling wrap and put it in the fridge... tonight when I went to use it I was surprised to see it had sprouted ... made me laugh to see leaves and roots on it.... and, yes, I peeled, cut and cooked it... lovely...

.... and this is part of my street taken earlier this evening as people were starting to settle down for the night... I like this time of the day when  lights start to be switched on...... I imagine people enjoying their evening meal and relaxing after a busy day....

Thanks for visiting...
