organised..at last

Hello there,
Hope you had a good week.. Hubby and I have been buzy helping our g-daughter -in-law with childminding and taking her for extra hospital visits.. She is expecting her third baby and has some small blood clots in her placenta. Her second baby was born very premmie. His mane is Max...some might remember I asked for prayers for him. He is doing fine.. a healthy toddler.  The doctors are monitoring  our mum-to -be very closely as the clots could  cause another premature birth. We are all praying this doesn't happen.......

Actually ... this post is to show off the computer book I made for myself.
I can't rely on my memory and I was accumulating notes in no particular order, some on bits of paper.
This was not working for me so I decided to put everything in one book.

\My book with photo of my computer/office corner on cover
I (roughly) cut sections headings out on the page tops

I have started writing notes directly into the book

I also have taped some loose notes directly into book

hooray....no loose bits floating around any more

now I feel organised and can have ideas at my fingertips

I would like to ask a couple of questions about making comments...................Is there a guide to how many (approx) posts in a link-up I should comment on..I've been trying to visit everybody........and I also read what other people have said and try to say something different.  The other thing  is my blog list...I like to visit these blogs regularly and leave comments, but I feel if I don't visit everybody  on the same day..I might seem like I'm not interested in their posts.......... .BUT ......I run out of time.
.I realise I'm probably worrying too much over these  things, but I'm unsure what to do........

Thanks for your patience
God Bless

Prayer update

Hello,I'm writing to let you know that my pregnant grand-daughter-in-law who has blood clots in her placenta is stable, and the Doctors are pleased with her.
The clots haven't worsened and she is in good health AND the baby is fine.
She is going for twice weekly check ups and will continue this until the baby is born. This means Hubby and I get to spend time with our other g-g=children

Thank you all for your prayers..
I'll keep up-dating.............

My Ladies

Hello, I'd like to introduce you to my sweet ladies ..... they are all special to me.
I don't have a hen collection...I'm happy with just these three.

This is a serving dish my son bought my many years ago...
I love the delicate pink of the glass and the detail
in the moulding.
He got this about 15 years ago and was told then it was vintage

One of my sisters got me this little hen when all my kids
were at school and I was childminding to bring in some
extra money.  She told me the hen reminded her of me...
I had the same expression on MY face.....buzy times then.

This little lady is a Happy Hen from New Zealand, and was
given to me by my friend of 40 years. Our children
grew up together.

My Three Special Ladies
They always make me smile....
The pink glass one lives in my china cabnet..
and the other two live in my kitchen where
I see them every day....

Have a good week, everyone

Yellow Chair

Hello,
I'm posting today to share two of my favourite pieces of furniture.
The first is my office chair.......I have this corner in my room, just outside my hubby's office/computer room.
I love my corner, it has all my phone numbers, email addresses, computer info and my birthday/christmas card and present list. Most importantly, this is where my calendar /diary lives!

Actually I have had two office chairs, one was this nicely padded dining room chair that I found abandoned on the footpath. I could'nt leave it to be ruined by the weather, it was too good.

I rescued this nice table from the street, much to my mothers dismay. It fitted perfectly in my back room and gave me 'under storage' for my sewing machine and overlocker, plus sewing and knitting boxes. I liked the pale green colour and the shabby look of this table. I did have these things under another table in the back room.....but the dog lives under there now.

As youcan see.. Kyton the Dog ....lacks for nothing. There is a table above this doggie bedroom, it cost $20 in a second hand shop and is solid wood.

Here is my 'Yellow Chair'!!  ....another street rescue...Both Mum and Hubby didn't think I needed another chair and they were probably right.....BUT ...I could 'see' this bright, happy chair in my corner,so in it came.
Everyone likes my new-look corner office now, including Mum and Hubby.
This area now makes me smile every time I walk into the dining room
Hope you liked the story of my Yellow Chair and how it  changed my work space from drab to happy.

Prayer request

Hello everyone,
I've been a bit behind in posting lately, due to ongoing Easter enteraining..more eggs arrived yesterday. When I have too many desserts and lollies/ chocolates I develop a low grade sluggish brain similar to depression . I know this is self inflicted.........and I don't expect any sympathy.
O.K ... enough about me!!!!!

My grand-daughter in -law is due to have another bub early July and the latest ultrs sound has shown she may have blood clots in the placenta. This can cause premature birth. Her little boy Max, was born very premmie and I asked for prayer then and he has grown into a beautiful 16 month cherub.

Thank you again for your prayers for Max, and I would really appreciate it if you could keep this family in prayer once again for this new bub.

Iceberg  rose.....I only have one plant and it usully has one
flower at a time

My cockatiel, Jules giving me a Good Morning bow..
he lives in our aviary with two other cockatiels
taken through the wire...

I've been visiting  and leaving comments, but I really have to do a re-assesent of my time and routines......I spnd too much time day dreaming and not enough time DOING

Happy Choko Easter

We are all hearing challenged in my home, and when I saw this Easter card I just had to share it with everyone.....

Again, this week , I'd like to share more choko/chayote stuff.......
This vege comes from Central America and is a good scorce of vit.C and fibre.
We like it sliced and cooked on the b.b.q .... or .... boiled and eaten with butter, salt and pepper ....delish...

When we have an overabundance of chokos, I try to find different ways to prepare them.

This week I made soup with just chokos and herbs and server it with rice.....

some basic flavours

peeling under water

drain and mash...you can make he soup thinner by adding
back some of the drained flavoured water

I kept it thick and added  some cooked garlic rice
Mum and Hubby liked it......

Now for Dessert

Just cover chayote with water and add sugar
bring to boil and cook until soft

drain and mash

put into containers and add jelly crystals directly
into hot mixture .. stir thoroughly

put in fridge to set

a lovely firm dessert....goes well on it's own
or with any topping of choice

The water that is drained  from the chokos can be used  a drink...........hot or cold....sweet or savory.

Again.......Happy Easter to all.
