Just Flowers

Hello...I've been taking quite a few flower photos over the last couple of weeks. My brain is running a bit slow at the moment so I thought I'd just post some relaxing floral pics.

These lovely rose buds are on a lone scrawney bush in my Grand-son's garden . Most of his garden is covered in Morning Glory gone wild. It looks pretty but it covers the roses as well as the weeds.

These flowers are growing in my  garden....these are some of the  miniature pink and white  orchids Hubby grows

newly sprouted 'Mums

May blossoms

suculent flowers

new fern frond

and another

I hope you enjoyed my little ramble ....I can always find something  that I think is beautiful to photograph in a garden

See you soon

First Haircut for Max

My little G-Grandson has had his first haircut!
It needed trimming badly...actually he didn't need a 'bad' trim......he needed a nice and neat trim. His lovely curls had just become too long and messy.
Max and little brother Tobey
Max and bid sister Lyla with Poppy

Two days after I took these photos Max's Mum and Dad 'trimmed' his hair ...using... CLIPPERS.....

Just as well he's a CUTIE with or without curls......

Sketch of my Grandson Sean , Max's dad, I did when he was 6 mths old.  I can see a resemblance here between the two of them.

Hair grows quickly (thank goodness) and  Max's parents say they will  keep it short in future...only time will tell!

I'll say goodbye now...

The Day I Lost the Dog

This is a true story...
It happened in the recent past..
Actually was yesterday morning....
I was the first person up and my sister G rang. As I was talking to her I went into the back room to see where the dog was sleeping. He has his own bed, but he often sleeps on our recliner chairs and I like to see where he ends up by morning.
Well, I looked, and looked dog.
I went outside ...still no dog..
All this time I was telling my sister I was looking for the dog.....
I went back inside and started to look all over again.....AND ... a little head popped up from inside the dog's bed...He'd been in bed the whole time!!!
My sister was laughing and asking me how I missed seeing the dog in his own bed....I couldn't understand it...
Then the penny dropped!!
I Didn't Have My Glasses On.....and I couldn't tell the difference between the brown patches on my dog and his brown blanket
.We both had a good did  Mum and Hubby when I told them.

I have decided to give my baby a different coloured blanket...maybe a new blue one would be nice.
Oh, And I've decided to put my glasses on as soon as I wake up every morning!!

Have a good day.

Pot plant and Pegs

Hi Everyone,
I moved a small outdoor table to under my clothes line and put a pot plant on it,. I like it here....but it meant a change in the way I now hang the washing on the line.

I now have to take into consideration the LENGTH of each piece I hang in the middle section the wash doesn't touch the plant. Makes for a nice shape, I think.

That's it for now

Egg-citing new idea

Good Morning All,
How to save the yolks....
My Hubby showed me a little video last night showing a Chinese lady using a simple method to separate the yolk from the white of an egg.
I was fascinated.... and wanted to share here I am demonstrating this method..

gather your supplies.....2 plates, 1 egg, AND 1 plastic drink bottle

crack egg onto plate

take drink bottle and squeeze and hold.....

put lip of bottle lightly onto yolk....

release pressure on bottle....AND as magically.......

the yolk goes  up into the bottle

go to other plate... put pressure on bottle again ..and out pops the yolk

Embroidery frames

My Amazing Frames

Hello people,
My Hubby took me to the 2nd hand shop on Friday......we  enjoy browsing ...and last Friday...we find something that is a good bargain ..and....useful.

I have arthritic hands and I haven't embroidered for a long time as I find the frames hard to hold......
THEN we found these..........and I realised they were EXACTLY what I needed......
..............Standing... Hands Free Frames.............perfect!

The brown frame is attached to it's own carry case with a sliding side that you take off to use.
The little round plastic frame is as you see it.
We were charged the princely sum of  $10  for these as a package deal....can you believe it....$10!!!
I couldn't hand over my money quickly enough.......and take my treasures home.

Looking forward to trying embroidery again.

Have a good week

I found a little cup

I enjoy seeing the lovely china  everyone shares at this link up. I haven't collected cups and saucers due to space restrictions in my home.....I have too many other collections.
Anyway...I saw this tiny cup in a second hand shop for $1...and thought I'd share it today.

this little cup is only 2 ins / 5cm tall
I like the maker's mark
and the transfer pink roses

I like the handle shape........Size in comparison to an average mandarin.
