Kitchen Gifts

Good Morning All,
This week I thought I'd share my brother-in -law's orchids with you.

He has been growing prize winning orchids for many years now and often gives me a spray for my kitchen. I love all flowers but orchids are a favourite because they last so long. I've had this spray for three weeks now and it's showing no signs of wilting yet.....pretty good eh!!!!

I have used my favourite kitchen vase to display them in...........an old pickled turnip jar given to me by my son.....I love the colours on the label. I mostly have parsley and mint in it but the orchid was a perfect match with the label.

In the orchid house

...... there will be a lot more colours and types flowering as we get into spring and summer.

Wet Thursday

Hello everyone,
I hope you all had a nice week.

This is my Simple Pleasure for this week.........................

It is a wild and wet Thursday.........

Can't go outside..no way................

"What will we do,"  I heard Mum say................

"I  know, a game of Yahtzee we'll play...........
and in our pj's and gowns we'll stay.......................
snug and warm near the heater all day".............

And we did exactly that.....
A little lazy maybe...but on a day like this ...Why not?????
Two little old ladies having a quiet, companionable,LACEy morning.........
What could be nicer......nothing...(once we added  coffee and tea).....how relaxing........

friday frenzy--not

Hello fellow bloggers,
I got up this morning -friday 15 july- at 7.30am and decided to get busy on the housework.

BUT first I put on the heater so the dining room would be warm for when Mum got up....Hubby put the heater on a little platform with wheels so we cah move it easily from lounge to dining room

I needed to do housekeeping on my computer.
SO I switched on  the computer and set some up -grades running......
(now comes the hard part).......you have to imagine my computer........... I can't locate my photo of it........[hence why this job is on my list..]..........I have a little black net book about the size of an A4 piece of paper. It's my pride and joy!!!

Ten I put a load of washing on.............

set the cute robotic floor sweeper in motion..................................

the ball rotates inside the ring and it goes all over the floor collecting dog hair etc, one of m hubby's buys to save me work..............

I put the coffee maker on for hubby ......

The jug on for my cup of tea

AND while my house was humming along ......I went in and made the beds!!!!!!

Now THAT is what I call a good start to the day...................

Now  comes  the  hanging  out  of  the  washing   and     the   dreaded        dusting......

Seriously......It's my pleasure to do these things.................but I love my modern appliances!!!!!!!

It was nice to see him with his mum and dad and grandmother

Thanks Damian, May and Michael for a lovely visit.

Kandy's visit

Hello Blog-World
Just a little note to say that I've been so busy in the garden, trying to get some order in my photo folders, taking Mum for an unexpected perm, the solar panel people here two days, a day and night looking after a friends CUTE dog, Mum's check-up with the heart specialist and a family lunch with my friend and her family,(who have flown in from Hong Kong for a 4 day visit) that this week has gotten away with me------AND it's my birthday tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing and/or hearing from all my children.  [:-)  (that's the longest sentence I've written in a long time)

Now, about the cute little chihuahua that came to visit my Kyton.......................

follow the leader

share my blanket

Isn't she beautiful?   My dog,Kyton, is an 8yr old Jack Russell Terrier and as you can see, isn't a big dog.Kandy is a 3yr old miniature Chihuahua and weighs less than 1kg.
The visit went well and they enjoyed each other's company.  "Aaw how cute is that" I can hear you  say.
The flash made my eyes go funny---
I like nan's warm slippers

I hope you all have a good week

Planted a  Window Box for Mum----

Lots of pretty coloured Polyanthus--
Looking happy in the Sun---

I love the winter sunshine,I find it energising and it makes me want to start new projects. The dreary grey days are not happy days for me.

Communion

Hello everyone,
Last Sunday we went to our grand-children's First Holy Communion and it was a lovely day.
The Mass started at 9am and it was a 2hr drive from Sydney, so, allowing for breakfast and dressing etc, we had to be up about 6am.  It was a long day for Mum.

The children looked lovely in their special outfits.

We went back to the local Community Hall for a lovely lunch, and the children cut their Communion Cake.

they had a lot of fun opening the gifts that all the rellies had for them

I was facinated by the footwear some of the guests wore so I took some shoe photos. the weather was sunny BUT freezing and I admired the dedication to  fashion shown by some ladies. The long toed Italian shoes favoured by some of the men were interesting. guests wore everything from high heeled toe peepers  to ugg boots.

AND  Poppy (my hubby Kevin), got to spend some special time with our great grand-son Max.....

Hope you have a good week....
God Bless
